“Small local agency, great customer service”

The agency is based in Marakech. It is a reatively small operation, but the quality of service is pretty good: personalized, our guide Abdul was very nice, profesional and great driver (the vehicle was also very good). They organized for us one 2-day excursión to the dunas (Erg Chebbi) and two transfers, between Marrakech and Ouarzazate. Abdul knew very well the sorroundungs (what to visit, where to eat...), very helpful along the way. Discreet and perdonable at the same time. Highly recommended experience.

“Marrakech to Telouet & Ait ben Haddou 4x4 Safari”

I want to say what a marvellous trip this was. Samira in the office was very helpful in recommending which trip to take. Our driver Abdul was knowledgeable and entertaining, the local guides were excellent and the sites were just incredible. We were looked after for the whole day and we felt as though Abdul was a friend rather than a driver/guide. I would give the company six stars if only that was possible.

“Awesome Day Trips!”

We booked 2 day tours with Authentic Berber Tours and we had an amazing time. I sent an email via their website and Samira quickly answered all my questions over email and the process was efficient and easy. We paid a deposit via PayPayl and paid the balance on the last day of our tour. Abdul was our driver and he was such a friendly, easy going guy. He was always on time to pick us up from our riad and was a safe and experienced driver, especially along the winding roads in the Atlas mountains. Abdul never hesitated to make a side stop for us to take a photo or to stretch our legs. The local guides in Telouet, Ait Ben Haddou, Ouzard falls were local, friendly and knowledgeable. We respect and value that Abdul, the local guides and the company focus on the tour and not on the shops. Thanks Abdul for giving us such a memorable experience of Marrakech and the surrounding country side.

“Best Morocco Trip”

The most memorable of our holidays…The desert! It's so engaging standing on sand dunes in the middle of nowhere in the desert and watch the sunrise. Camel trekking was also very interesting - the camels are so cute and the ride up and down and in between the dunes was quite an experience. Driver Abdul - super!!, always accommodating, pleasant and friendly. He is an authentic berber. Our trip from Marrakesh to Fes was magnificent. We have seen and experienced so many amazing things. I recommend Authentic Berber Tours to everyone who wants know Morocco and an adventure with the contrasts of the busy cities and the beautiful star filled peaceful Sahara desert. Five stars from me.
Thanks muchly friends

“Excellent tour gives insight into the beauty of Morocco.”

We booked this tour very last minute. We searched for a tour operator who visited the Atlas mountains and Aït-Ben-Haddou, with an included night in the Sahara. Many tour operators situated around Marrakesh were unavailable, so we went with "Authentic Berber Tours" who offered the full package. And as we soon realized, we couldn't be any more lucky. Our two day trip was guided by Khalled, who speaks perfectly English, has a perfect knowledge about his country and he is an amazing driver as well. We visited the Atlas-Mountains as planned with a lot of interesting stops. Aït-Ben-Haddou was one of these beautiful places. The night in the Sahara was perfect, camel tours included.
This company gives Berber Tours. This means they give you information about Berber life, culture and agriculture. And they visit the places, landscapes and nature sights who are important for Berbers today and in history. The guides are Berbers themselves and are very connected to the region. Expect a lot of stops at beautiful sights combined with high quality coffee along the way served by locals. We ate fresh dates straight from palm-trees and visited a still inhabited Berber house in Aït-Ben-Haddou. These are some examples on the exclusives this company likes to offer. They truly support the local people which is great, because here tourism is really turned into the favor of the people who live there. Besides this, it has to be said that the Atlas Mountains, and it's transition into the Sahara, are absolutely stunning. One of the most beautiful natural landscapes I ever saw. Sitting in a car was never this enjoyable.
Everything is possible for these guys, nothing is a problem. You can ask whatever you want, which is not evident in the country. So I learned a lot about Morocco and felt really fulfilled on multiple levels after the tour. I recommend this company to anyone, they will adapt to any of your needs and necessities and will give you a wonderful time.

“The highlight of our trip to Morocco!!!”

My husband and I went on a 3 day tour from Fes to Marrakech with Authentic Berber Tours and Abdul as our guide. I have to say it was the absolute highlight of our trip to Morocco! What a wonderful experience seeing the country this way! Abdul was super accommodating in stopping whenever we needed for photos and gave us so much information about Morocco, its past and present. By the sound of it it's a small company with only a few cars and drivers and they really focus on service which shows in everything they do from the amazing hotels they chose for their guests, the nice new 4x4s they drive and the great guides they work with for the night in the desert. The scenery, the interesting conversations, the magical night in the desert and the personalized approach, everything was perfect! A special note to Abdul's amazing driving skills! You can instantly tell he is very experienced and you feel very safe (seems like a silly thing to add but wait till you see some people driving in Morocco! :)) The only regret we have is not having more time to go on a 5 day tour. It would have been great to spend more time in the Sahara and drink more tea with the locals! If we are ever back in Morocco, we will absolutely contact Abdul to show us more of his beautiful country!

“Abdul is the best! This is the company to travel with!”

We were searching online for a tour from Fes to Marrakech and liked the look of Authentic Berber tours. We are so glad we went with this company! Fatima answered our emails generally within a half our whenever we had questions. When Abdul, our amazing guide showed up, he was driving a 2014 Toyota Land Cruiser that was very comfortable to drive in. He was always happy, joking and answered any questions we had about Morocco desert tours Marrakech. You could tell he loved his job and loved working with all kinds of guests. With some of the crazy roads we drove on, we couldn't have asked for a more experienced and professional driver. We were really into taking photos and Abdul was always happy to stop anywhere we asked for as long as we wanted to stay. He was so much fun and we still keep in contact today. At the end of the three days, we were sad for Abdul to leave us! As for the trip itself, it was amazing. The desert, the landscape...everything. There is no better way to see Morocco than with these guys. Also, they are not some giant corporation with tons of drivers and cars...they are just a small family style company with less cars and they treat their staff well. They want to only offer the best, so their guides and cars are handpicked and perfect for this job. You can look around at the others, but Authentic Berber Tours will be the best choice...hands down.

“A great day trip”

We booked the day trip from Marrakech to the Ourika valley. It was very east to book on the phone and our guide Abdul turned up exactly as arranged to pick us up from out hotel. Abdul was an excellent guide for our trip which took us up into the mountains and see some Berber villages and meet some of the locals. The mint tea which we had in the Berber house was without doubt the best we had during our Moroccan stay. The trek up to the waterfalls, together with local guide was lovely but a bit of an unorganized scramble in places !
Abdul dropped us back off at our hotel in the late afternoon. We would thoroughly recommend this trip if you want to see a bit more than souks, snake charmers and tagines when you are in Marrakech.
Thanks again to Abdul for a great day trip.

“Great day out!”

My husband and I are on a short few days visit to Marrakech , I booked with Authentic Berber Tours prior to our arrival. I e mailed them telling them what we wanted out of our day tour , told them one of us was a vegetarian and also gave them the name of the Riad where we were staying . They e mailed back saying that we would be collected at 0800 hrs.
Sure enough the guide arrived on the dot at 0800, introduced himself as Hussain , and took us to a waiting land cruiser vehicle.
We set off and headed for the Atlas Mountains , it was a little rainy but no problem, Hussain was incredibly informative , telling us about Berber life and traditions, he pointed out many features along the way. Late morning we arrived in Imlil , where we were met by a walking guide called Mohammed, a very nice man who took us onto the trails up into the mountain to a high Berber village , crossing rivers and waterfalls.
He was helpful when I slipped on wet stones taking my hand to help me along the way.
We arrived at the village with the most amazing views to behold , even snow on the mountain tops . A lovely lady cooked a fresh meal for us, Home made bread , delicious lentils soup , fresh salad assortment and a veg Tagine for me and A Lamb one for my husband . Followed by the most juicy apples and mint tea.
On our way back we entered the vehicle and passed along stunning valleys and river ways , we even stopped off to see inside a hotel of a certain class owned by Richard Branson Kasbah Tamadot .
We had a fabulous day and could not have wished for a better guide in Hussain.
Well done to Authentic Berber Tours , you have it just right !
Thank you for a great day out !

“Amazing Experience”

I had read about Authentic Berber Tours about travelling to Marrakech but hadn't booked. I was worried we'd missed out but a few easy emails on the hotel wifi later and we were booked in for the Ait Benhaddou & Telouet Day Trip. The day trip was a little bit more expensive than the ones offered by our holiday company but there was no comparison in service, I'm so glad we picked Authentic Berber Tours and got the real deal. The tour cost about £130 for both my boyfriend and I, we were picked up at 8am and didn't get home until almost 9pm. The car was comfortable, well maintained and had air conditioning. There was even chargers for our phones when they ran out of battery from taking too many photos!
Our driver Kahlid spoke brilliant English so we were able to have great conversations and he was able to give us a really good history of the area. He was a great guy and made us feel safe and comfortable all day, even on those mountain roads! Kahlid knew where to stop for the best views and would stop and explain anything we were interested in. The lunch that was included was so tasty and the proper food we'd not found so far, amazing views too. (Kahlid gave us a tip on a really nice place near Jemaa el fna which we visited after.)
We covered so much in a day, this trip is perfect if you're trying to pack in as much as you can! There were so many great sights and experiences on this trip, one particularly memorable moment was standing on a mountain road eating pomegranates fresh off the tree while the call to prayer rang out from the Berber village below.
Thank you so much for the amazing experience, we would recommend to anyone visiting Marrakech.
